Acknowledging the Machine: How I Use AI at Systems Nominal

Why I’m Using AI

Before diving into painted ‘Mechs and after-action reports, I want to start with a little transparency about how this blog comes together. The truth is simple: I am not a writer by trade. Like a lot of players, my days are packed with work, family, and the usual responsibilities that make writing a blog daunting. That’s where AI comes in. I’m using it as a creative partner to help get thoughts out faster, structure posts cleanly, and keep the words flowing.

How It Works

Here’s how I handle it: AI helps me draft, organize, and refine posts, but every story, idea, and opinion here starts with me. I review and edit every word before it’s published. The AI doesn’t decide what to write about, what I think of a unit, or what happened in a game. It just helps me express those thoughts clearly and consistently.

In other words, it’s a support system, but I’m in the commander’s chair.

Why I’m Up Front About It

I wanted to be transparent because authenticity matters. This blog is about the personal side of the hobby: painting late at night, cheering a lucky headshot, and reflecting on hard-fought matches. Using AI doesn’t replace that; it simply helps me share those experiences more regularly and in a way that reads well.

If anything, it’s helping me do more with the same passion and limited time. And that’s a win in my book.

Commander’s Note

So yes, I’m using a machine to help me talk about bigger, stompy machines. But every post, every thought, and every mech on these pages comes from me behind the controls. Now that the air’s cleared we can start getting to the good stuff.
